Mertz Library Local Databases
The Library also maintains a number of local databases, providing access, inventory, and searching capability to some of the Library's non-book collections that have not received full cataloging and are therefore not available through the online catalog. These databases include botanical art and illustration collection, nursery catalogs, collectors' field notebooks, and the Lord & Burnham Collection. These databases are currently available onsite in the Library only.
Digital Library
The Library participated in the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Botanical/Horticultural Rare Book Digitization Pilot Program, along with several other botanical and horticultural libraries in the United States and the United Kingdom. The Garden's project was to create high quality digital copies of three 19th century titles by French botanist Andre Michaux and his son Francois Andre Michaux. Illustrators of the titles include Pierre Joseph Redoute and Pancrace Bessa. (More about the Digital Library)
